Octopus Ahoy! art project seeks fresh legs

Octopus Ahoy!
Volunteers wanted for Octopus Ahoy! art trail

An art project that will see a collection of painted octopus sculptures across Essex over the summer is looking to net volunteers to help in Tendring.

The Octopus Ahoy! project is being organised to mark the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower from Harwich and the 150th anniversary of Clacton. The sculptures will be painted by professional artists and schoolchildren and will be auctioned at the end of the project for Tendring-based charities.

The organisers say volunteers will gain work experience and develop communication skills while giving back to the local community. The First training sessions taking place on Thursday, June 10 between 11am-1pm or  7pm-9pm.
