Brightlingsea Lido’s hopes of being picked as Experience of the Year in the East of England Tourism Awards 2021/2022 were dashed as the on Thursday (February 24) as the pool and café lost out to a national sail training business based in North Fambridge.
The Lido was one of five organisations picked to contend the experience category and operations manager Nicki Martin and volunteer Karen Hine were among 400 guests who attended the glittering awards event at Duxford Air Museum.
Although the Lido wasn’t a winner, the team behind the attraction felt extremely proud of all their efforts – a huge achievement in a challenging year – and thanked all the visitors who return time after time.
