Stoney Lane farm access track plan withdrawn

A planning application submitted to Tendring District Council to build a farm access track off Stoney Lane in Brightlingsea has been withdrawn.

Applicant Robert Blyth said the 330m-long track would have saved a trip of around 3km – some of it on Robinson Road –  for large agricultural machinery needing to get to fields belonging to Lower Farm. Building the track would have involved removing some trees though others would have been planted to compensate.

Residents on Stoney Lane and Red Barn Road, along with walkers, adjacent landowners and Brightlingsea Town Council raised objections over the narrow access to Stoney Lane, the proximity of heavy machinery to their houses, loss of wildlife habitat and amenity.
