Roger Hirst, Conservative, has been re-elected as Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex with a promise to continue working to stop crime from happening and to keep people safe from fire and hazard. He has also pledged to prevent drug related violence and support victims of domestic abuse with a focus on preventing it from happening in the first place.
Roger received more than half of the first preference votes. The countywide turnout was 32.47 per cent, an increase from the 2016 PCC election when the turnout was 26 per cent.
