Levelling up bid could boost Tendring bus services

Essex County Council has submitted a bid for £18m to improve transport in Tendring and backed other bids to improve infrastructure and town centres.

If successful, the bids – submitted to government as part of the national Levelling Up initiative – would help to improve the main A133 and enhance bus infrastructure across the district, party with a view to improving access to services and jobs created by the Bathside Bay development in Harwich, part of the Freeport East initiative.

The bid also supports the rollout of DigiGo, a fully electric, on-demand minibus service as well as cycling route improvements within Harwich and Dovercourt and extending free bike delivery in Jaywick and Clacton.\
