Have you had a Diamond Dove visit?

Brightlingsea Info reader Pam Gillett managed to catch this little visitor on video.

She identified the bird as a Diamond Dove, a native of the deserts of North and Central Australia – so either it’s flown a very long way or, more likely, escaped from an aviary.

In the wild, they’re a threatened species but can live for up to 25 years in captivity. Though this one is a loner, they’re happier in pairs or groups of around 20.

Has anyone else in Brightlingsea seen one? Do let us know.
