About this event

Join local environmental artist Jane Stewart on a foraging walk and sketch along the Colne Estuary at Brightlingsea. Together we will explore areas that you might not already know, finding and identifying edible sea vegetables to garnish our lunch with. Bring a packed lunch and your sketchbooks, we will be stopping at specific beauty spots for a spot of sketching, both flora and fauna, as well as wrecks and boat yards.

A camera or camera phone is also a good idea to bring to record your journey, and don't forget your sketchbook.

Please remember to bring plenty of water, a snack and wear clothing suitable for the weather on the day and sensible footwear for walking.

The Details:Essex Path to Prosperity in partnership with Jane Stewart introduces a series of 'Essex Coast Walks & Workshops' to promote the wonderful Essex coastline and its history. Throughout 2022 Essex Path to Prosperity will be running a set of varied workshops using art, painting, crafting and photography to explore and celebrate our wild, historical coastline with the community.

The workshops are FREE and can be booked on a first come first serve basis as we are limited to set places listed per course on Eventbrite.

We ask that participants follow government guidelines for outdoor activities in public.

This event is supported by Essex County Council through Essex Path to Prosperity and funded by the Coastal Communities Fund (Great British Coast).
