If you’re going sailing, swimming or simply strolling along the Promenade, it’s always a good idea to know what the Brightlingsea tides are doing. Keep an eye on them here.
Brightlingsea tides can run fast, especially in the creek and in the Colne, so care needs to be taken to avoid being swept out into the estuary when paddleboarding or kayaking.
The difference between high and low tides can be be 5 metres or more. The pictures above show a big spring tide, covering the Waterside area – be careful where you park your car!
