Like many of our traditional activities, Halloween is going to be a bit different this year as trick and treating is out of the question owing to Covid-19 restrictions.
That's where the Brightlingsea Pumpkin Trail comes in. The idea is for people to put pumpkins, ghoulies and ghosties in their windows or gardens to create a trail around the town that can be viewed safely by kids of all ages.
The idea - rather like the rainbow trails that were popular at the start of lockdown – came from the Pumpkin Trail Brightlingsea Facebook page , where you'll find lots of fun trail ideas. Brightlingsea Info has teamed up with the page to list those taking part in the trail so that it's easier to plan your route round the town.
If you're planning a display, use the form on this page to let us know. We'll add you to the list of participants and show your location on the map so it will be easier for people to find you. However you're intending take part, remember to stay safe - stick to the rule of six, maintain social distancing, don't offer or share sweets or treats, and don't 'cold call'. There's some good safety tips in this article. Have a great time!
