Brightlingsea Open Gardens plans progressing well

Have you spent a lot of time working on your garden during lockdown? Then why not open it to the public during the Brightlingsea Open Gardens weekend later this year?

Plans for the event – which was cancelled last year because of the pandemic – are progressing well, with a new programme sponsor, renewable energy company Ørsted on board.

Scheduled for the weekend of June 26 and 27, the event – which has raised thousands of pounds for the St Helena Hospice and featured up to 50 gardens in the past – will include a picnic area in Springmead Gardens. Brightlingsea Info will once again be running an online Virtual Open Gardens so that those who are unable to visit in person can enjoy the gardens too.

"We can't wait to give you the opportunity to see lots of beautiful and interesting gardens of all shapes and sizes. We're sure you've all been busy during lockdown so we’re hoping for a bumper entry!" say the organisers.

Previous 'openers' should have been contacted, but if not, or if you're interested in showing your garden, contact Mary Goggin on 01206 308023.
