Work to build a long-awaited zebra crossing outside the Colne Community College on Church Road is scheduled to begin on Saturday, February 12 and last for up to eight days.
The construction work, which also includes the installation of a pedestrian island in Bateman Road at its junction with Church Road, will mean that Bateman Road will be closed, along with the section of Church Road between the junctions with Bateman Road and Manor House Way.
To get round the closed section, two diversions ( shown below) will be in place – via Samsons Road and Red Barn Road, or via Manor House Way, Marennes Crescent and Chestnut Way to Lower Park Road.
The zebra crossing is due to be installed in the section of Church Road between the junctions of Manor House Way and Bateman Road, around 60m from Manor House Way.
