Two Brightlingsea organisations have opened applications to residents for grants of up to £200.
Families, individuals and organisations in Brightlingsea can apply for grants from the WinterFest Wellbeing Fund, which distributes money raised during February’s WinterFest festival of music, arts and spoken word.
Grants for a maximum of £100 are available for activities and items which improve people’s wellbeing – such as sports activities, sports equipment, family days out, music or arts lessons or clubs.
Local organisations whose work contribute to people’s wellbeing can also make applications to the fund for grants of up to £200.
The grants given are to pay for specific items or activities and cash grants are not available. Applications can be made on the Brightlingsea WinterFest website.
The Edward Sycamore Brightlingsea Fund gives small grants, usually £50 to £100 to young people resident in Brightlingsea to help with their studies, sports, apprenticeships and other activities.
The Trustees meet twice a year to consider applications and the next closing date for applications is Wednesday, April 12. Those interested are asked to apply by emailing [email protected] with details of name, age, and address, along with information about what the grant is for, why it is needed and something about the applicant’s ambitions, hopes and future plans. Decisions will be made by the end of April.
