The 19th Brightlingsea Christmas Tree Festival takes place this weekend – in a new venue and with additional opening hours on Friday afternoon/evening.
The annual event will this year be held in St James’ church while its traditional home – All Saints’ – is off limits due to tower renovation and building work.
The festival features trees decorated by local organisations, businesses and families, along with a Christmas gift shop, refreshments and music provided by local musicians.
On Saturday December 10 there’s an evening concert featuring the Christmas Carol Experience, a seven-strong group who’ll be narrating and singing a retelling of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
Tickets are priced at £15 each, including a supper box and drink, and are available from Little Boat Gifts.
On Sunday December 11, the Festival will conclude with a free family carol sing along led by Chris Bloor at 6pm.
The festival will also be running a free shuttle bus service around the town every 20 minutes or so, starting from St James Church and including the Park & Ride car park at the Fiveways in Samsons Road. See the map below.
The festival takes place on Friday December 9 from 4-8pm, Saturday December 10 from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday December 11 from 10.30am to 6pm.
