A fundraising drive to support amibitous heritage and environmental plans for All Saints’ Church has been launched.
The Saints Alive project is part of the Friends of All Saints’ plans for the ancient church, which was awarded National Lottery Heritage Funding of nearly £500,000 in 2021.
The Lottery funding will help to pay for restoration work to the church tower and the building of a new toilet and kitchen block, and the new fundraising drive aims to raise money for items including bike racks, bug hotels, bat sensors and equipment to help maintain the churchyard – the second largest in England
In addition, resources and training courses for volunteers are planned to encourage cycling, promote health and well-being through outdoor activity, supervise children on visits and to give information on how to lessen the impact of climate change.
Money raised is being match-funded by insurance company Aviva – donations can be made via this link – and a video to support the fundraising drive can be seen below.
