Two events organised by the Brightlingsea Hospice Support Group and friends have raised of £6,600 for St. Helena Hospice over two weekends – putting the group on track for a record fundraising year.
The Voices for Hospices event, co-organised by Carole Goodwin, saw 230 people in St James’ church enjoy performances at matinee and evening concerts by local choirs Bright Voices, Women in Harmony, The Motley Crew, Brightlingsea Primary School Choir and guest soloists.
The concerts raised £3,167, with match funding from Barclays Bank taking the total to £4,000.
Following the concerts, the Colne Yacht Club was the venue for a prosecco afternoon tea which raised a further £2,600 attended by over 80 people who enjoyed sandwiches, scones and cakes with a glass of fizz.
The Hospice Support Group will be holding a Christmas Craft Fayre at the YMCA on Saturday, 18th November from 9.30am.
