Popular Brightlingsea footpath to be diverted for up to five years

A popular footpath near Moverons Lane in Brightlingsea is to be diverted while mineral extraction takes place.

Essex County Council’s order for the path – officially known as Footpath 3 – was confirmed on September 15 and will see the route diverted until the end of 2027 at the latest.

The diversion takes walkers to the south side of the large ponds in the Brightlingsea quarry, starting from a point close to the entrance of the workings.

Details of the order and the order map can be seen on Essex Highways’ website.
