The Brightlingsea Nature Network is organising another round of hedge planting in the town.
The new project will see hedges planted along the lane opposite All Saints’ churchyard off Church Road on land owned by farmer Mark Cooper.
Suitable for all the family, the planting will take place between Saturday April 24 and Sunday May 2. To take part, book on Facebook or call or text call/text 07527 003 655, then pick up a hedge pack and map from 36 New Street. You can plant on your own or in group of up to six, and you’ll need your own tools.
“We are hoping that this hedge of dog wood, rowan, hawthorn, hazel, dog rose, black thorn and birch will help to connect up the countryside to some of our green spaces for wildlife, as well as looking beautiful as you come around the church corner into Brightlingsea,” said the Network’s Susie Jenkins.
