New deacon for Brightlingsea is ordained

The parish of All Saints’ and St James Brightlingsea has a new deacon.

Judith Gibbons, who lives in the town, was one of 18 deacons ordained on September 10 at Chelmsford Cathedral by the Bishop of Chelmsford, The Rt Rev Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani.

The Rev Judith has been licenced as the curate for Brightlingsea’s vicar, Rev Caroline Beckett, and she will work in the parish alongside licenced lay minister Catherine Graham.

“I am looking forward to working with our local ministry team to develop the workship and service of our church community,” said Judith, who’s seen above after her ordination with husband Adrian and their two daughters, Hellen and Josephine.

The ordination service in Chelmsford can be seen here.
