Brightlingsea Community Centre has hit out at “mindless” vandals who damaged lights and furniture outside the Station Road building on the night of Sunday, July 9.
Security lights were smashed, decorative lights pulled down and the wires cut (pictured below), and a parasol was slashed.
The centre’s vice-chairman, Roly Worrall, said that the centre has been the subject of several attacks this year.
“It’s just heart-breaking,” he said of the latest damage, estimated at several hundred pounds. “All they’re doing is damaging things that belong to the town.”
The centre has now launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to replace the damaged items.
