Brightlingsea Carnival Association is urging local businesses, organisations and individuals to join in this year’s procession.
The carnival – which will once again be held in conjunction with Brightlingsea Regatta – takes place on Saturday, July 22 (with Regatta events also taking place on the 23rd) and the group is hoping to build on the success of last year’s procession.
All of the money collected during the street procession is divided amongst the non-business groups that take part – last year £1,600 was raised.
The theme this year is Disney. “We are giving you plenty of time to get your thinking caps on,” said the association’s Tracey Barton. “All you need is a sense of fun to dress up and enjoy the day by taking part.”
