Revised plans for a “mixed-use tourism and residential scheme” on a site off Robinson Road, Brightlingsea, are to be shown to the public next week.
Plans to turn the 81-acre Lower Farm site into a holiday park and retirement village, with 104 lodges and five houses, were approved by Tendring Council almost three years ago.
However, private equity business Artemis Capital Partners and estate agents Carter Jonas are to hold a public exhibition in Brightlingsea Parish Hall on Tuesday, July 25 from 3-7pm to view revised proposals.
Companies House data shows that directors at Corby-based Artemis are also directors of two businesses – Artemis (Brightlingsea) Ltd and Artemis Brightlingsea No 2 Ltd, both registered in 2022.
The original plans envisaged a ‘Center Parcs’ style development, with the five lakes on the former quarry site being used for sailing, fishing and canoeing. A report submitted to the council by the applicant, James Blyth, claimed that the development would offer “both direct and indirect employment opportunities within the local area; attract both national and international tourism; and, promote economic growth of the immediate and local areas”.
