Colne Radio – the Wivenhoe-based local station – is looking for volunteers to help it set up training courses for potential new broadcasters.
The three-year Find Your Voice project is backed by the National Lottery Community Fund and aims to help anyone aged 17 and over who might like to record a personal story, interview people in the community or create broadcasts of all kinds.
To help get the scheme off the ground, the station is running two taster days to help its trainers gain experience of working with a group and to develop the courses, which will begin in the autumm.
Two sessions – on August 3 & 17 – will run in Brightlingsea Community Centre, each running from 10.30am to 3pm. The sessions will focus on an introduction to interviewing, recording, editing and wil finish with a recorded interview.
