Colne Medical Centre patients will be able to book telephone consultations online from Monday July 20.
The system will open at 8am every day and bookings will be available for the same day only. Bookings can be made via the NHS App, practice website or directly through online access accounts, but can’t be made days in advance. Calls to the centre’s reception team to book a telephone consultation can still be made after 8.30am on 01206 302522.
The Brightlingsea practice has seen a large increase in the amount of telephone consultation requests and says that the following are not reasons for booking telephone consultations with your GP.
- Medication reviews – ask reception to book an appointment with the clinical pharmacist
- Continuing sickness certificates – requests can be made via the practice website or the reception team
- Muscular problems – ask reception to book directly with the physiotherapist for assessments
- Referrals – to query a hospital referral call the hospital Outpatient Contact Centre (OCC) in the first instance on 01206 747576. Those who have been referred to an ACE service should contact ACE Community Gateway on 0300 0032 144.
