Residents across Tendring are being reminded to check their voter information.
As part of an annual canvass, households across the district have received letters asking them to confirm the details of those living there are accurate.
The annual canvass ensures Tendring’s Electoral Registration Office holds the correct information for adults who are UK, Commonwealth and eligible EU nationals, and 16 to 17-year-olds, who live in the district.
Residents in properties that have received a white letter must confirm their details whether there are no changes or if they need updating. Households which received a lilac letter need only respond if changes are needed. Responses can be submitted online using the details from the letters.
Ian Davidson, Electoral Registration Officer for Tendring, said: “It is important that each household checks the details are up-to-date to ensure residents maintain their right to vote. People are asked to check the information – which includes your nationality, whether you are on the open register, and if you have a postal or proxy vote – and confirm them if necessary.”
