Garden lovers will be out in force this weekend for the 35th Brightlingsea Open Gardens event.
Organised by the Brightlingsea Hospice Support Group, the annual event has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for St Helena Hospice and this year sees a record 37 gardens open to the public.
One of the gardens is Springmead, at the junction of Ladysmith Avenue and Spring Chase, where members of the committee will be providing light lunches and home-made cakes from noon to 3pm on both days.
Admission to the gardens is by programme, costing £5 and available from local shops or from participating gardens. The gardens are marked with rainbow-coloured windmills and are open from 10am to 5pm on both days – June 15&16.
