Brightlingsea residents will be able to discover the work that’s going on around the town to protect our local ecology at a Nature Recovery Event in the town’s library on March 18.
The event – organised by the Brightlingsea Nature Network, Cobnuts Co-operative, Brightlingsea Town Council Nature Recovery Group and the British Naturalist’s Association (BNA) – will also give townsfolk the chance to to see the work being done to create a wildlife garden behind the New Street library.
The event, which runs from 10am-4pm, will feature a bee-friendly plant sale, the chance to record hedgehog and other wildlife sightings on a digital nature map, activities including tiny garden construction and natural fabric dyeing and stalls from the Brightlingsea Beach School, Bentley Hedgehog Rescue and the BNA.
Brightlingsea Mayor Mick Barry will be installing a swift box on the BT exchange building next to the library and there’ll also be an ecologist on hand to explain more about local flora and fauna.
