Community heroes from across Tendring – including Brightlingsea – have been recognised with a special ceremony celebrating the 2024 Pride of Tendring Awards.
The annual event, now in its 12th year, is organised by Tendring District Council (TDC) to shine a spotlight on some of those who work hard to support their community.
Elizabeth Foss-Smith, the project leader for the All Saints’ Church Tower of Strength project, poppy appeal collector Tony Barrett and Brightlingsea Regent’s chairman Terry Doherty were among winners honoured at a glittering ceremony held in Clacton’s Princes Theatre on February 16.
Gary Scott, TDC Chairman, said: “Each and every winner totally deserves this recognition, which is but a small thank you for a lot of hard work in our community – often a lifetime of dedication to the place in which they live.”
The recipients were nominated by Tendring councillors.
