Hundreds of people enjoyed an afternoon of fresh air and fun at Brightlingsea’s first Fresh Air Festival on Sunday (October 2).
Visitors to the rescheduled event on Promenade Way – which was cancelled during the period of of official mourning after the death of the Queen – were entertained by street performers, acrobats, jugglers, story tellers and more.
Children were able to try out circus skills, make environmentally-friendly crabbing lines and experience an adventure inside the body of a giant inflatable whale, while walkers along the Prom encountered a giant lobster, an amazing musical contraption and stopped to listen to sea shanties.
After the disappointment of having to cancel the event, the warm autumn weather was the icing on the cake for organiser Cassie Catchpole.
” I was so thrilled with the event,” she told Brightlingsea Info. ” There were so many families with so many smiles – that’s always the aim of the game for me so I’m beyond happy with it.”
And she added: “Big thanks to everyone who supported, it couldn’t have been done without you! Let’s do it again next year, I say!”
